Lenovo Goes Above and Beyond with Latest Additions to the Digital Era
Latest Range of Multimode Devices Offer Stylish and Functional Versatility at its Finest
Singapore – August 28, 2014: Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today announced the availability of its latest devices that take computing in both the living room and the boardroom to the next level – the Lenovo Horizon 2, a two-in-one Windows 8 PC providing multi-touch use at any angle, and the ThinkPad 10, a tablet optimized for business professionals seeking ultimate flexibility and mobility.
“Lenovo has harnessed its experience as the world’s leading manufacturer of PCs to craft the next stage of collaborative and interpersonal computing, changing the way that people work and play together. Whether it be in the office or at home, the Horizon 2 serves as the focal point for people and the various devices of our digital era,” said Jessie Quek, Country General Manager, Lenovo Singapore. “The ThinkPad 10 on the other hand ensures that productivity is maintained while on the move, allowing professionals to have untethered access to a full computing experience without baggage.”
Reinventing the spirit of sharing
What measures as thin as a deck of cards and still offers multiple times the fun with an exciting collaborative experience all around? The now dramatically thinner and lighter 27″ Horizon 2 measures only 19.5mm and also shaves off weight to 7.6kg, making it easier to transportaround the home or office. With improved performance and smarter features like near field communications (NFC) that interacts with users’ other devices, the Horizon 2 promises a truly one of a kind digital content sharing experience.
For instance, users can simply shake their Android device while using the new Horizon mobile app, allowing content to “fall” onto the Horizon 2’s screen. Placing the mobile device directly on its screen lets users “pull” out content onto the PC’s display, signaling the Aura dial to appear. Sharing media with friends is now easier than ever before – Horizon 2’s multi-user capabilities mean friends can pull content from one another, edit photos simultaneously with the its multi-touch screen, and even upload directly to Facebook or another phone. As an added bonus, Horizon 2’s new face tracing feature allows users to upload photos from their camera or smartphone and have the Aura interface try to recognize the faces in the photos.
The Horizon 2 also comes with dozens of new multi-user, multitouch family entertainment including Ubisoft’s Chubby Kings, a four-player family fun game; Omnivision’s Halli Galli, a popular entertainment game; Legacy Games’ Crayola’s Songbook, a children’s interactive musical and drawing experience; as well as several education apps.
Continuing the interpersonal Table PC’s focus of facilitating collaborative computing, the Horizon 2 is available in both Table and Stand Modes with its Windows 8.1 10-finger touchscreen. Adjust the screen in Stand Mode for a performance AIO desktop, or enjoy the Horizon 2 in Table Mode when laid flat for computing together and playing games with up to four people. The Horizon 2 supports up to 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor and users can enjoy either large traditional or hybrid storage. Share and enjoy photos, presentations, e-book pages and music tracks in a snap with new motion control features as well as the Dolby® Home Theater™. Transport the Horizon 2 easily from room to room with up to 4 hours of battery reserve and optional table accessory.
