Samsung Introduces Innovative Printing Solutions and Advanced NFC Printers for SMBs and Home Office

3, 2014 – Samsung Electronics Singapore today unveiled powerful line-up of printers that combine NFC (Near Field
Communication) and Wi-Fi® Direct technologies, Business Core Printing Solutions
that enable greater efficiencies for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs),
and a web-based XOA open platform tool to expand the number of printer devices
compatible with various B2B solutions.

Samsung new line-up of NFC (Near Field
Communication)-enabled printers include colour-laser printers and multi-function
printers (MFPs) Xpress C1810W, C410W and C460 series, as well as the mono-laser
printers and MFPs, Xpress M2070, M2020 and M2885 series.

Mobile Printing Made Easy

Printing has never
been easier. The new Samsung NFC-enabled printers connect wirelessly
with mobile devices for fast, integrated and convenient printing on the go.
Users can effortlessly and securely print pictures, documents, e-mails and web
content by simply tapping their smartphones on the printer. Scanning and faxing
documents is also made easy as users are able to sync the contacts on their
smartphones with the printers.

The NFC function also made it possible to connect
their smartphone to as many as 20 printers with a few simple taps.

With Samsung Mobile Print App, users are now
able to print everything from PDF files to Microsoft Office documents such as
Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations directly from their
smartphones.

Users who do not
have NFC enabled smartphones or have not installed the Samsung Mobile Print App
on to their phones can still benefit from the printers as they support Google
Cloud Print. This solution allows users to print over the web from anywhere
with any smart device.

Additionally,
owners of Samsung’s GALAXY smartphones and GALAXY Tab series have the added
benefit of being able to print images from the gallery app, documents, email
and web browser pages.

Colour and Design

Samsung’s unique Rendering
Engine for Clean Page technology guarantees professional quality output
with sharp text and clean images, and the polymerised toner makes for
strikingly vivid and glossy colour printing.

Samsung’s new NFC-enabled colour laser printer and
MFPs were awarded the prestigious iF product Design award 2013 for its
ergonomic design and ease-of-use.

Enhanced
Efficiency with Customised Printing Solutions for SMBs

Samsung understands that SMBs need customisable
workflow solutions that meet specific document-handling needs, all while
maintaining high security and productivity. Because SMBs typically lack the
scale of resources available to enterprise businesses, easy management
solutions that fit tight budgets is of utmost importance.

To meet these needs for SMBs, Samsung introduced its
Business Core™ Printing Solutions, BCPS, which provide the essential suite of
offerings to create a seamless workflow experience. BCPS is embedded on Samsung
printers and MFPs thus it does not need separate server. Thanks to its server-less
printing solutions, SMBs can reduce IT resource including IT management
personnel and server purchasing cost.

Included in the Business Core Printing Solutions
offering are two packages, an Output Management Pack and a Document Management
Pack that contain five key solutions for heightened productivity,
cost-efficiency, security, ease of use and simplified maintenance tailored to
SMBs.

Expansion
of Compatible Devices via a Web-Based XOA Platform

In 2010, Samsung Electronics released XOA Embedded, a
flexible and powerful open platform for running business solutions on printers
and MFPs. However, the platform could only be applied to high-end products,
such as A3 copiers, because it required high hardware specifications.

To address this limitation, Samsung introduced the XOA
Web platform, which does not need high hardware specifications because it is
based on a web-based server. The platform is thereby compatible with a variety
of devices from low-end A4 MFPs to high-end A3 copiers to run business
solutions.

SMBs customers can now enjoy the benefits enhanced
productivity, security and device management solutions according to their needs
in addition to saving cost. Additionally, resellers and dealers can offer
customer-oriented solutions running on smaller A4 devices that better meet
their customers’ needs.

Availability

The new Samsung Xpress C1810, M2070, M2020 and M2885
series are now available at all major consumer electronics stores in Singapore,
while the Xpress C410W and C460 series printers are scheduled to be launched by
end July.

The Samsung Mobile Print app can
