The new Surface Pro 2 is said to have a 2 staged adjustable stand and will have a battery life of up to 7 hours. It will look similar to the first generation Surface Pro, but of course, will be pre-installed with the latest Windows 8.1 update. The U.S. version will come without Microsoft Office. The Surface Pro 2 comes in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB variants. These new tablet/notebooks are said to retail at a price of 999 , 1299, 1699 USD respectively.
On the other hand, the new Surface RT 2 will use a Tegra 4 processor. It has a 10.6 inch screen and a 1080p display resolution, upgraded from the Surface RT. It will also support a newer USB 3.0 interface for faster transfers and also a 4GB RAM for an improved overall performance. It will have a battery life of 8 hours and is said to have a white variant. It comes in 32GB and 64GB which costs 499 USD and 599 USD respectively.
As for accessories, a new Power Cover will be introduced as well as a new Surface docking station to make the laptops/tablets a more complete device. More colours will also be launched together with the new Touch Cover 2 which even has a keyboard backlight. Luckily, all new accessories will also support the first generation Surface Pro. Other than that, Microsoft will also launch some peripherals for sale.
