Not long ago, Samsung launched a new dual-screen clam shell Android smartphone called Samsung “Hennessy”. Samsung Hennessy SCH-W789 had a SRP of 4999 yuan (1000SGD), but we felt that its hardware specifications does not justify its price tag. Within a short period of time, they released another smartphone in the same form factor – Samsung Galaxy Golden SHV-E400 will be launched in Korea soon.
Galaxy Golden has two 3.7-inch AMOLED screen. Both of them are at a 800 x 480 resolution and uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.7GHz processor. The unit comes with 2GB of RAM, a 8 megapixel main camera and a 1.9 megapixel front camera. It uses Android 4.2 operating system and has a 1820 mAh battery capacity. It also has support for LTE and NFC.
Additionally, Galaxy Golden also supports “Easy Mode” which aims to help newbies transit from a feature phone to a smartphone. “Easy Mode” increases the font size on the smartphone and brings features like Radio, Pedometer to the front. Of course, the pedometer matches with Samsung’s S Health app.
Galaxy Golden does not come cheap. It is sold in Korea for 799,700 won which is about 915SGD.
