Nvidia announced on Sunday that the company’s Android handheld console Nvidia Shield will be officially shipped on 31st July. Nvidia Shield has been delayed by a month because it has suffered “mechanical problems” and “third party component” issues. The original shipping date was 27th June.
Shield is the first of a slew of new devices running on the new generation of Nvidia Tegra 4 chip. It is a Android based device which has integrated a traditional game controller with a 5-inch touch screen which allows you play a variety of Android games. The product is mainly targeted at experienced gamers, but its recent price drop from 349USD to 299USD opens the console to a much larger market.
