Intel GT3e Graphics found in flagship Haswell based Macbook Pro – Much improved Graphics performance

VR-Zone reported that the benchmark results of a new Haswell based Macbook Pro has been seen on GeekBench’s Benchmark website.

At GeekBench’s website, a new model number “AAPLJ45,1” appeared on the 9th July. This new test machine comes with 16GB of RAM and runs on OS X 10.9 Mavericks. The build version of the operating system is Build12A2052.

This new machine managed to get a score of 12497, similar to the current 15 inch MacBook Pro. Seemingly, the new Haswell based MacBook Pro will have a much longer battery life and better performance, just like the new MacBook Air.

This system could be a new generation MacBook Pro which uses Intel’s Core i7-4960HQ Quad Core processor with built in Intel’s Iris Pro 5200 Graphics (GT3e) chip.

Iris graphics chip is found on the same die as the Intel Core processor. Intel Core i7-4950HQ comes with a high end Iris Pro 5200 Graphics chip, which has 40 execution units, 128MB eDRAM cache and the performance is close to Nvidia’s Geforce GT640M discrete graphics.
