Singapore (6 June, 2013) — Being a forerunner in the development of 2-in-1 hybrid devices over the years, ASUS will be rolling out a series of the latest 2-in-1 innovative products at the PC Show, which will be held from 6 – 9 June 2013 at the Singapore Expo Convention and Exhibition Centre.

ASUS Transformer Book

To be first available at PC Show this year, the ASUS Transformer Book is the latest Windows 8 ultraportable that is both a tablet and a notebook. Thanks to its versatile dockable design, the new ASUS Transformer Book is a thin and lightweight 13.3-inch 2-in-1 hybrid device packed with third generation Intel® Core™ processor for outstanding multi-tasking performance. Its 2-in-1 preposition makes the ASUS Transformer Book the perfect choice for those who want both a full featured notebook for work and a tablet for play.

At first glance, ASUS Transformer Book is a compact and powerful notebook with third generation Intel® Core™ i5 or i7 processor and high-capacity hard drive. Detach the 13.3-inch 1920 x 1080 full HD display from the notebook dock, and ASUS Transformer Book seamlessly transforms into a standalone Windows 8 tablet with its own 128GB SSD storage.

With separate batteries in both the notebook dock and tablet, ASUS Transformer Book has up to 5 hours of battery life in full notebook mode, and up to 8 hours in tablet mode. Notebook mode battery life can be further increased to up to 8 hours by disabling the dock’s hard drive and ports, thus leaving the keyboard and touchpad active.

ASUS Transformer Book features dedicated storage for both notebook and tablet modes for “best-of-both-worlds” mobile flexibility. A choice of 320GB or 500GB hard drives offer ample capacity for industry-standard software and personal data in notebook mode, while a 128GB SSD gives blisteringly fast storage for Windows 8 apps and data in tablet mode. With the main PC components housed in the tablet, hard drive and expansion ports in the notebook dock, exclusive ASUS High-Speed Bridge technology ensures maximum performance in notebook mode, with a high-bandwidth connection between dock and tablet that is even faster than USB 3.0.

When it comes to entertainment, ASUS Transformer Book’s 1080p full HD display renders movies, photos and games with exquisite clarity. IPS display technology ensures brilliant and accurate colour reproduction, with 178-degree wide viewing angles that keep the image bright and clear, even when seen from the side or under bright outdoor conditions.

ASUS Fonepad

Recently available in late April, ASUS Fonepad is the latest 2-in-1 handheld device with full 3G phone capabilities. It is also ASUS’ first 7-inch tablet with phone function, mobile data and all the features of an Android smartphone. ASUS Fonepad is ideal for users who enjoy the convenience of carrying just one device that fulfills their needs of the voice communication feature of a smartphone and entertainment feature of a tablet. Following the earlier launch of its 8GB counterpart, ASUS will be releasing the new 32GB model first at PC Show. Offered in both Titanium Gray and Champagne Gold, the 32GB model will be retailing at S$399.

Measuring only 10.4mm slim, ASUS Fonepad is a sleek and compact tablet with a metallic design that can be held comfortably in one hand. Powered by the latest Intel®Atom™ processor Z2460 with full Android compatibility for the latest 32GB model, ASUS Fonepad offers a perfect balance of performance and energy efficiency, with hardware-accelerated 1080p full HD video recording and up to nine hours of battery life, depending on operating conditions, specific hardware and software used.

Furthermore, with full 3G telephony support, ASUS Fonepad can also be used for voice calls using the built-in noise-cancelling digital microphone or an optional Bluetooth headset. With only one mobile data plan, running costs are much lower than those of a separate smartphone and 3G tablet. With an additional SD card slot, the ASUS Fonepad is capable of expanding users’ providing up to 32GB of additional storage, on top of its onboard storage of 8GB and 32GB respectively.

ASUS Fonepad sports both GPS and Assisted-GPS (A-GPS) functions, where the former locates a position using orbiting and relevant satellites, while the latter uses GPS receivers of nearby base stations to locate a position. This results in faster location acquisition by the ASUS Fonepad, with lesser processing power required by the device and therefore, highly efficient in saving battery.

The 7-inch handheld device sports a 10-point multi touch, and crisp 1280 x 800 HD resolution for clear, readable web page text and incredibly detailed photos. With built-in IPS technology that provides 178-degree wide viewing angle, this ensures that images viewed on the ASUS Fonepad remain clear and bright, even outdoor.

To further enhance users’ experience with the ASUS Fonepad, two new optional accessories are also available for purchase. Available in four snazzy colours, the VersaSleeve 7 is a wrap-around cover with a folding design that both protects the tablet and props up the screen.
