Maximus VI Formula and Maximus VI Impact motherboards, Poseidon graphics card, G750 notebook and Tytan G30 desktop all showcased, along with the innovative Sonic Radar audio visualization utility for enhanced gaming
Computex Taipei, Taiwan (4 June, 2013) — ASUS Republic of Gamers today announced the Maximus VI Extreme, Maximus VI Formula and Maximus VI Impact motherboards, the Poseidon graphics card, Tytan G30 gaming desktop and G750 gaming notebook at Computex Taipei 2013. All are committed to maintaining the brand focus on enhanced gaming experiences and delivering PC gamers the most powerful and accessible technology available.
“ASUS ROG is not just about extreme hardware,” said ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih. “It is about taking experiences to a new level of incredible with amazing designs, convenient form factors and proprietary software that put gamers in the driver’s seat with seamless control.”
Maximus VI Formula with CrossChill cooling
ROG Maximus VI Formula is the ultimate gaming motherboard, with a stylish ROG Armor cover and a SECC (Steel, Electro-galvanized, Cold-rolled, Coil) backplate with thermal pads for added strength and cooling. Maximus VI Formula features the CrossChill hybrid thermal design, which offers the option of both air and liquid cooling. Integrated ‘Pin-finned’ heatsinks improve heat dissipation with an increased surface area, while twin G1/4-inch threaded sockets support any standard liquid cooling loop. ROG testing has shown that a liquid-cooled Maximus VI Formula motherboard with CrossChill operates at temperatures up to 23 degrees Celsius lower than air-only cooling.
Overclocking performance is also enhanced by Extreme Engine Digi+ III power delivery, featuring 60A BlackWing chokes, 90% efficiency NexFET MOSFETs and 10K Black Metallic capacitors. A bundled mPCIe Combo II card also provides 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless, plus an M.2 interface for ultra-compact NGFF (Next Generation Form-Factor) SSDs.
Maximus VI Formula raises the bar yet again with SupremeFX onboard audio. This features 120dB SNR headphone output with a 600ohm headphone amplifier, and renowned WIMA and ELNA audio capacitors. Differential signal processing with OpAMP and EMI shielding reduce electromagnetic interference, too.
Mini-ITX Maximus VI Impact with innovative Impact Power and SupremeFX Impact audio
Maximus VI Impact is the first ROG mini-ITX motherboard. Suitable for small form factor enthusiasts, it includes the Impact Power add-on card with 8+2 phase digital power for the CPU and memory, along with the SupremeFX Impact sound card, which features ELNA audio capacitors and 115dB SNR, plus a headphone amplifier to deliver high-quality and immersive gaming audio. An mPCIe Combo II card with 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 is also included.
ROG Poseidon graphics card with hybrid DirectCU H2O cooling
The new ROG Poseidon graphics card features an NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 700 Series GPU and a hybrid DirectCU H2O thermal design that supports both air and liquid cooling. Developed by ASUS, its CoolTech fan combines blower and axial fans in one design, forcing air in multiple directions over the heatsink to maximize heat dissipation. Liquid cooling reduces operating temperatures by up to 31 degrees Celsius for cooler running with even greater overclocking potential. ROG Poseidon also features a red pulsing ROG logo for a distinctive dash of style.
The Sonic Radar audio positioning engine was developed by ASUS audio teams as a way to visualize in-game sound. Sonic Radar helps players detect opponents even without direct line of sight, by displaying an on-screen overlay that shows the relative position of gunshots, footsteps and other sound effects. Sonic Radar will be offered with all ROG gaming sound cards (including Xonar Phoebus and Xonar Phoebus Solo) and Maximus VI Series motherboards with SupremeFX from summer 2013.
Tytan G30 desktop and G750 notebook for great gaming out of the box
The ROG Tytan G30 gaming desktop uses automatic case ventilation control and liquid CPU cooling for efficient heat dissipation, increased operating stability and reduced noise. The extreme performance of its 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7-4770K processor can be fully exploited with one-click overclocking of all four cores on the fly, while NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 780 graphics ensure smooth gameplay with the highest detail settings in games.
The 17-inch G750 is the latest in the highly acclaimed ROG G Series of gaming notebooks. Powered by a 4th generation Intel® Core™ processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 700M Series graphics, the G750 has a gamer-focused design with a robust backlit keyboard, isolated directional key cluster and large multi-point touchpad. A dedicated headphone amplifier gives incredible sound quality, too.
Tytan G30 and G750 both feature exclusive ASUS SonicMaster audio technology that boosts game sound performance. SonicMaster and the ROG AudioWizard sound tuning utility offer five modes to match different gaming genres, all controlled through a user-friendly interface.
Orion for Consoles headset
For universally accessible gaming sound, ROG presents the Orion for Consoles headset. Compatible with PC, Microsoft Xbox 360® and Sony PlayStation® 3, Orion for Consoles has large padded ear cushions and 50mm neodymium magnet drivers for deep bass and detailed audio reproduction. The headset offers passive noise cancellation that blocks up to 30dB of ambient noise.
ROG Armor keyboard & Nomad backpack
Designed specifically for gamers, the ROG Armor keyboard features highly responsive mechanical key switches for continued reliable performance and backlit keys for use in low-light environments.
The ROG Nomad backpack caters for larger gaming notebooks like the ROG G750 with a unique internal suspension system and padded pockets that ensure everything is well protected when on the move. Ventilated padding keeps the wearer cool and comfortable, while the water-resistant ballistic nylon design keeps the precious cargo safe and dry, even in wet weather.
OC Panel demo with legendary overclockers
ROG team members and world-renowned overclockers Andre Yang and Shamino demonstrated the overclocking prowess of the Maximus VI Extreme motherboard with a 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor and a 32GB four-DIMM RAM configuration. Using the exclusive OC Panel utility and extreme liquid nitrogen cooling, they achieved upwards of 7GHz processor and 4200MHz memory speeds.
