Las Vegas, Nevada, United States (6 January, 2013) ― ASUS is proud to announce that 15 of its products have received 2013 CES Innovations Awards. The awards cover a wide range of innovative designs and technologies across six categories: Gaming Hardware and Accessories; Computer Hardware and Components; Computer Peripherals; Tablets, E-readers and Mobile Computing; Video Displays and Wireless Handsets. This impressive tally of awards is clear recognition of the innovation, design perfection and customer focus that are hallmarks of all ASUS products.
The recently unveiled ASUS PadFone 2 received an Innovations Award in the Wireless Handsets category. Chosen for its unique combination of smartphone and notebook, PadFone 2 delivers unparalleled mobile flexibility and an impressive array of high-end specifications.
The equally trailblazing ASUS Taichi™ dual-screen notebook won an award in the Tablets, E-readers, and Mobile Computing category, with the judging panel acknowledging its daring design and entirely new approach to mobile PCs.

Winning insight
The CES judging panel announced that the ASUS Designo Series MX279H 27-inch won an award in the Computer Peripherals category. With a frameless design and wide 178-degree viewing angle, the Designo Series delivers superlative image quality with bright, accurate colors. Sound quality is astounding, too — thanks to ASUS SonicMaster audio technology, developed with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower®.
The ASUS Designo Series MX299Q 29-inch display also received awards in the Video Displays category, accompanied by the ProArt Series PA249Q 24-inch monitor. ASUS display products are industry leading, thanks to their high image quality, IPS display technology and adoption of higher resolution standards, not to mention their meticulous user-centric design.
Taking care of gamers
CES judges selected three Republic of Gamers (ROG) products in the Gaming Hardware and Accessories category. Leading these is the ROG G Series G46VW gaming notebook, a feat of creative engineering that packs unmitigated gaming power into a compact and mobile 14-inch form factor, complete with sophisticated Smart Cooling technology and SonicMaster audio.
The ROG Vulcan PRO headset has also been recognized for its excellence in the Gaming Hardware and Accessories category. Offering the world’s only gaming-specific active noise-cancellation technology, superior comfort for prolonged gaming sessions and mobility-enabling capabilities, the ROG Vulcan PRO features the ROG Spitfire USB audio processor, plus a detachable microphone and cable. The third ROG product to win an award in this category is the GX1000 gaming mouse, notable for such gamer-tuned features as a carefully weighted design and extreme sensitivity.
The powerful ROG TYTAN CG8890 desktop PC also impressed CES judges with its aggressive styling, all-core processor overclocking and innovative expanding case design with 10-way cross-airflow cooling. The TYTAN CG8890 delivers a new standard in pre-built gaming desktop excellence.
Celebrating components
True to its origins, ASUS stands as the world’s best-selling and most award-winning motherboard brand. This trend continues with CES 2013, with two ASUS motherboards winning Computer Hardware and Components awards. The ROG Maximus V Formula motherboard features patent-pending Fusion Thermo Solution technology for both air and liquid cooling, alongside GameFirst II network bandwidth management and SupremeFX IV audio. The second winner, the TUF Series SABERTOOTH Z77, features the extreme thermal resilience and stability that are staples of the rugged ASUS TUF range.
Peripherals in focus
Two ASUS accessories received 2013 CES Innovations Awards in the Computer Peripherals category. The eye-catching and transformable ASUS VariDrive marries an upright slot-loading DVD reader/writer with an expansion dock that provides USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA and Ethernet ports. The ASUS Audio Dock is the second award-winner — a stylish and compact product that augments the sound capabilities of notebooks with a simple docking mechanism.
